This project started during a master's program in geography that I still haven’t quite finished. At the time, I wanted to create maps and share obscure geographic topics — and was determined not to start a travel blog, convinced my long travel days were behind me.
But here I am, years later, back on the road, heading out on long adventures and figuring out what to share from them.
TumbleweedMaps.com has gone through several versions before settling into its core focus on mountain travel and geography. Mountains will continue to be a major theme, but after a long stretch of traveling and reflecting, it’s clear there’s more to share — not everything fits neatly into "mountain" content.
So now, it will simply be what it wants to be: maps, drone footage, stories, mountains, beaches, and whatever else feels right.
